Our values
How we operate
- Critical thinking first. We treat AI as a tool to be understood — including its limitations — not hype to be repeated.
- Responsible use. We promote uses of AI that respect academic integrity and course policies.
- Interdisciplinary by design. AI affects every field, so every field belongs in the conversation.
- Evidence over anecdotes. We use student feedback and evidence to shape our programming.
Who it's for
Every student, every program
SAIL is for UofT students from all disciplines — humanities, life sciences, engineering, commerce, social sciences, and everything in between. If AI touches your studies or your future career (it does), SAIL is for you.
No coding experience required. Our programming is designed to be valuable whether you've never opened a chatbot or you build models for fun.
